Snow Day Ootd + Girl Talk

My university had a snow day earlier this week and it was lovely. I did the exact same thing as most of my peers... nothing. It was pure bliss relaxing in bed and on my computer all day, kinda. I could not focus on my school work or blog work. My mind was totally consumed with my job search, love life woes, and a ton of other nonsense. It wasn't until midnight that I finished up all of my homework and tasks for the day.

I say all of this to say that mental breaks and routine changes in activity are essential for me. What about you? What do you have to accomplish before your brain functions? I have to clean my room, work out, or journal everyday to keep my sanity. Literally just taking the time to unplug and declutter have made me 100x more efficient. It's amazing what wisdom a little reflection on a snow day can bring.

The funny thing is that this was probably my last snow day. Sad face. I'm nervous about facing the real world. So many thoughts travel through my head when I think about relocating to Atlanta, working in the media industry, running JasmineDiane.com with a full-time job. Needless to say, life is about to get real, but by taking the time out to organize my tasks, relax daily, and have "me time" I can conquer any challenge. My words of wisdom to you are to seize the day by prioritizing, working hard, and treating yourself to breaks! The outfit details are below!

Turban: House of Rena // Top: Macy's // Red top: Thrift // Jeans: Old Navy // Boots: Bakers

Lately, I've been obsessed with my House of Rena turbans. My hair is currently at that awkward stage. Pray for me. I can't decide on if I want to get box braids again or a sew in or just let it ride. Do you have any suggestions for me? Leave all of your comments in the box below.

I love reading them. Thank you all so much for all of your love and support! Peace and love!

Ps. We are almost to 16k page views! THANK YOU GUYS!

  1. Since it'll be warming up soon, I say keep rocking headwraps/turbans during the "awkward" stage and then go for box braids in March or April. I've been wanting box braids for at least three years now, but my edges are prone to breaking off so I don't want to risk it. Regarding the real world: girl, you got this! You've started planning early and you're putting in the work. I have no doubt that you relocating to ATL and being successful will happen. :))

    1. Thanks for the support girl. I am contemplating dyeing my hair this week. Lol I'm so bored with it and I was inspired by Vic Styles. She just dyed hers pink and I'm like yeah I could definitely see myself with brighter hair. Not pink, just something different. Lol You could try box braids and tell them not to do them tight on your edges. They make working out so much easier.

    2. That's the main reason I want braids: so I can just get up and go about my day, and that includes working out. I don't know who Vic Styles is but now I'm interested in her to see what her hair looks like. Maybe dye your hair purple if you want color but nothing too bright? Idk, I've never dyed my hair. I'm such a bore!

    3. I never considered purple.... I'm a chicken. I was thinking light brown. Lol nonetheless have your ever considered a wig? I know some girls who braid their hair down every few weeks and wear the wig in public. I hated the clips on my weave, though I do still have it and may rock it in a few weeks for spring break. Lol
